2 Week Course: £90
Monday 13 & Monday 27 November, 7pm – 9pm
Come and make this beautiful pendant on a two-week evening course.
Make a pendant using silver clay and learn how to use this amazing medium. You will make a frame base that you will add various moulded or hand formed embellishments to and at the end of the two sessions, take away a unique piece of silver jewellery.
Silver clay is a very user friendly medium that allows you to easily make some beautiful silver jewellery that is of hall-markable quality. It is a combination of fine silver particles, an organic binder and water which, when blended together, gives a clay like substance. You can texture, roll, shape and mould it, then let it dry completely. Once it is dry, you fire the fine silver clay pieces on a gas hob or by torch or in a kiln. The binder burns away and you are left with a piece of pure silver jewellery that is 99.9% silver.
Marianne, from Grey Clouds & Silver Linings, will guide you through the process of making some beautiful and unusual pendants for yourself or as a gift.
All materials are provided to make one pendant of the specified size (approx the size of a 50p piece). Extra clay can be brought during the workshop to make slightly larger or a second piece, depending on time available.
