The Pound’s 100 Years of Silents series continues in 2024 with a screening of Buster Keaton’s silent era classic from 1924, Sherlock Jr.

In the film, Buster plays a movie projectionist who daydreams himself into the movies he is showing and merges with the figures and the backgrounds on the screen. While dreaming he is Conan Doyle’s master detective, he snoops out brilliant discoveries.

This screening will be accompanied by a live piano score, performed by BFI Southbank’s resident pianist Meg Morley. Since performing for her first silent film in 2016, Meg has quickly become one of the UK’s pre-eminent silent film accompanists, performing at various international film festivals and playing.
