1st September – 29th September
Opening Thursday 31st August, 6.30pm
A contemporary textile artist, printmaker and educator, Lyn specialises in large scale abstract screen-printed fabrics often layered with digitally embroidered forms sourced from her uniquely expressive drawing style.
The works on display are based around the idea of a single utility one size-fits-all garment design, cut from drops of natural linens that are produced sustainably (GOTS) and hand screen printed with OEKO-TEX compliant pigments. Designs are hand-rendered or derived from hand drawn original abstract embroideries. The fabric lengths are a uniform size and can be purchased for re-use for functional individual makes.
This is a prelude to an exhibition at the pound next year that which will be an explorative exercise that focuses the ‘Garment’ recycled in many forms, techniques and guises.
Lyn’s work will be showing alongside The Picturesque, an exhibition by by Myrna Quiñonez, showing at The Pound gallery from Friday 1st to Friday 29th of September.
