Tom Wrigglesworth
Tom Wrigglesworth is an established stand-up comedian, radio and TV presenter and voice-over artist from Sheffield, England. With a disarmingly charming delivery and unforgettable appearance, this Yorkshire funny man became a national have-a-go-hero when he rescued a little old lady from the jaws of a Virgin train ticket inspector; only to be arrested for begging. His subsequent story of the event secured Tom several awards including the Chortle Best Show Award, and a nomination for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award.
Tom first broke onto the scene back in 2003, winning the Channel 4 new comedian competition, ‘So You Think You’re Funny’. He is now firmly established as one of the most original, talented and respected comedians on the UK and International comedy circuit. He’s enjoyed several nationwide tours with live shows, has written and starred in five self-titled series for Radio 4, and performed at comedy festivals across the globe.
Bilal Zafar
Bilal Zafar was nominated for the lastminute.com Best Newcomer Award for his debut show, CAKES, at the Edinburgh Fringe. Bilal also won the New Act of the Year award joining the company of previous winners such as Stewart Lee, Ardal O’Hanlon, Joe Wilkinson and Linda Smith.
He was the runner up at the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year competition. He has appeared on BBC3, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Asian Network, and has written for The Independent.
He also runs a successful Twitch page which has racked up over 12.3K followers. He streams an interactive, improvised comedy show three times a week where he plays a football manager embroiled in scandal, featuring various special guests. The show is growing every day and has been picked up by multiple radio shows and newspapers.
Marise Gaughan
As a stand-up comedian, Marise started her career in Los Angeles, appearing in on stages including The Comedy Store and The Hollywood Improv. Since returning to the UK, her debut stand-up show Drowning explored her father’s (successful) suicide attempt and her own (unsuccessful) one. It premiered at the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2019 where it was nominated for the Fringe’s Spirit of Wit Moira Brady Averill Award for artists whose work defies categorisation with bold and unconventional material and for the First Fortnight Award for shows that challenge stigma and prejudice about mental health. Marise was subsequently awarded the Women’s Irish Network Arts Bursary. She has also supported acts including Rob Delaney, Ari Shaffir and Jim Norton on tour.
‘Gaughan’s humour is dark, biting, and painfully honest, but it is in the moments when she is being gentler to herself that her words are at their most transcendent.’ Irish Independent.
Joseph Jacobs
Joe Jacobs is a comedian, rapper and writer. His live shows effortlessly flit between hip hop and comedy and he’s been seen/heard on Channel 4, BBC Radio 4, BBC 6 Music, Radio 1XTRA, plus gained millions of viral video views online.
On the live circuit, he’s a regular at The Comedy Store, Top Secret, Glee, The Bearcat, Up The Creek, Backyard Comedy Club, Covent Garden Comedy Club, Knock2Bag, Downstairs At The Kings Head, Banana Cabaret, The Distraction Club and many others.
He has provided tour support for acts such as Jamali Maddix, Dane Baptiste and even opened for Bill Burr at The Comedy Store in Hollywood.
In 2017, Joe took Ripe to the Edinburgh Fringe where it received critical acclaim. In 2019, he returned with Grimefulness.
His TV work includes Harry Hill’s ClubNite on Channel 4, Nazi Pug: Joke or Hate on BBC3, plus his viral rap track I’m Dog was featured on E4’s Rudetube.
