Elemental features work by Susan Derges and Christopher Bucklow, celebrated luminaries in the field of contemporary camera-less photography. Their practices and pictures evoke the co-existence (or inseparability) of the natural world and celestial bodies, suggesting the miraculous, life giving and transformative nature of light. Their works are held in international museums including the V&A and the Guggenheim and Metropolitan Museums in New York.
They are joined by Nat Faulkner a multidisciplinary artist who will be exhibiting in Frieze Art London this autumn and Ed Bucklow, a recent graduate. Both artists extend the photographic image into three-dimensional form.
Adam Fuss explores universal themes such as life, mortality and the passage of time. By manipulating light, chemicals and materials in unexpected ways he invites the viewers to contemplate the ephemeral nature of existence and the complex interplay between the physical and metaphysical realms.
His ethereal images blend traditional photographic techniques with singular a bespoke processes. Fuss adapts and creates tools to achieve a dynamic visual poetics of inner emotional states.
