You may have noticed a few changes regarding The Pound Café Bar recently. We just wanted to take a moment to offer some reassurance and explain our current position.
In the face of rising costs, we’ve been looking carefully at how to keep our lovely café open and welcoming in the long term. The truth is, serving meals just wasn’t covering its costs. So, we’ve made the decision, for now, to focus on what works best – and what you love most – award-winning Bristol Twenty coffee, speciality teas, snacks and cakes including vegan and gluten free options, plus the gingerbread people which are particularly popular with our younger visitors!
By streamlining our menu, we can make sure the café stays open as a place for the community to enjoy. But to keep going, we really do need your support – every coffee, every slice of cake, every visit makes a difference.
We will keep reassessing the situation and looking at ways to ensure the cafe serves the needs of you, all our wonderful visitors. So, whether you’re visiting the gallery, waiting for your child after school, attending a workshop, meeting a friend or just enjoying a bit of me-time, you’re welcome to pop in for our cosy, warm welcome.
If you’re visiting us for an evening gig, we will still have our bar offering a range of alcoholic and soft drinks, as well as non-alcoholic options. Perfect for the range of live music and comedians we have visiting this autumn, including Ria Lina, Janet Street Porter, John Bramwell, and Johnny Coppin.
Thank you for being part of our story. We’re excited to keep sharing creativity and cuppas!
