Making Tracks brings together emerging artists from the UK and around the world to showcase diverse music, initiate new collaborations and explore strategies for music-based environmental engagement.
Since 2010, Making Tracks has brought world-class, diverse music from all corners of the globe to leading venues throughout the UK. Their new model, launched in 2019, selects individual emerging musicians from the UK and around the world – ‘Making Tracks Fellows’ – and brings them together for a two-week residency and a two-week tour. As well as providing a platform for exceptional artists to showcase their music, create new collaborative works and build their careers, we also inspire Fellows to explore strategies for environmental engagement.
This year, in response to the Covid-19 outbreak, Making Tracks has had to change the way they work and take their model online.
MAKING TRACKS 2020 – THE DIGITAL TOUR
Live-streamed performances and new collaborative works incubated during the residency will be broadcast on their Facebook Page at 7pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, starting 21 July:
Tuesday evenings: solo concerts
Unique performances from each of Making Tracks’ 2020 Fellows.
Wednesday evenings: collaborations
Premiers of new collaborative works, incubated during Making Tracks’ online residency.
Thursday evenings: Making Tracks, In-Deep
This is your chance to dive deeper into the interests and musical cultures of the 2020 Fellows. Events will include talks and interactive workshops. The tour will happen ‘in reverse’; instead of travelling to local audiences around the UK, the public is invited into the homes of Making Tracks’ 2020 Fellows around the world.
