A ginormous thank you to all the artists for providing this magical moment. You are truly the best.
These are unprecedented times. We would ask you to support these brilliant artists by purchasing music and merchandise directly from their websites…
Amber Dee – remember when Amber Dee joined us for TEDxCorsham in January 2019, closing the event and sending us out and into the night feeling all warm and fuzzy? Well Amber is back for Blue Sky and Beyond with her latest track Wilderness, another track full of soulful vocal performance and candid lyricism.
Chloe Foy – what a treat it was to witness Chloe perform live at The Pound as part of Independent Venue Week earlier this year. Chloe’s brand of brand of alternative folk music is sensitive, quiet and introspective, a strikingly beautiful voice and emotionally direct songwriting.
Daniel Inzani – did you catch Daniel perform at The Pound in February with the magical Spindle Ensemble? Fear not, Daniel will return to this neck of the woods very soon with one of his many projects. A composer, pianist/multi-instrumentalist performer and recording engineer/producer based in Bristol.
Emily Barker – you’ve seen Emily in a box, you’ve seen Emily in the auditorium at The Pound. And now you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. Emily’s music is a seamless mix of soul, blues, country and folk influences. An exquisite artist with a clear love for music.
Firewoodisland – we had a brilliant time with this Bristol based duo in February alongside Chloe Foy for Independent Venue Week. Fantastically gorgeous, uplifting anthems from Norwegian/Welsh multi-instrumentalists and songwriters Stian Vedøy and Abi Eleri. Their emotive and dynamic vocal harmonies together with the morphing of organic and digital instruments, creates an atmospheric soundscape that is moving yet striking.
Lady Nade – open hearted and hard to forget. Bristolian Singer-songstress Lady Nade has a tender, powerful, velveteen voice, and a knack for creating memorable melodies, using authentic and powerful narratives. Filling your heart with words and music that nourish both body and soul.
Lukas Drinkwater – this fella was very recently spotted in Wiltshire as part of our latest season of Rural Touring as part of the stand out new-folk duo Jacob & Drinkwater and also in Folk in a Box with Emily Barker as part of our Blue Sky Festival last year. A musician, compose and producer, Lukas is based in Stroud where he runs Polyphonic Recording with his partner Emily.
Merlyn Driver – a special night with Merlyn in the auditorium in June last year. Merlyn Driver is a musician, writer, artistic director and nature enthusiast focusing mainly on traditional and international musics, and on connections between music and the environment. We’re delighted to welcome Merlyn to the Blue Sky and Beyond line-up.
Mishra – fond memories of our time with this duo and Spindle Ensemble a few months back in February. Kate Griffin and Ford Collier aka Mishra, are a global folk collective who add influences from Indian classical, Americana, and jazz to their roots in U.K folk and produce a sumptuous feast for the ears.
Nuala Honan – delighted to have welcomed Nuala’s unique vibe to The Pound last November alongside an evening with Tiny Ruins. Stark yet beautiful songwriting full of poetic lyrical grace that comes with a big impact. Look our for Nuala’s second album which will be launching later this year.
The Little Unsaid – another Pound Arts favourite. Having had their first outing in Corsham as part of Blue Sky Festival in 2015, and most recently performing at the arts centre last November. Mesmeric, atmospheric music to leave you totally beguiled. A gorgeous whiplash of delirium and hazy reveries. They’ll be back.
