Join actor Glyn Dilley in the comfy surround of The Pound’s Drawing Room Exhibition for two poetry readings, each followed by an informal discussion and a relaxed drawing session inspired by the themes and visuals.
Recital 1: Tuesday 23 January, 7.30pm – 8.30pm, select poems by Gerard Manley Hopkins.
Recital 2: Tuesday 30 January, 7.30pm – 8.30pm, select poems by By W H Auden.
Glyn is a professional actor currently based in Corsham. He trained as an actor at the Rose Bruford College, and has over forty years’ experience as a theatre practitioner. Work as an actor has taken him to the West End, all over the UK, and into Europe in radio, TV, theatre and film. Theatre productions include: Educating Rita, The Glass Menagerie, Mother Courage, Not About Heroes, The Misanthrope, Boeing Boeing, The Ithaca Axis, and many others. Roles include Malvolio, Shylock, Prospero and King Lear. TV: Fanny and Friends, Emmerdale, Brookside. Films: Crowhurst, Once Upon a Time in London, and The Last Faust, in which he played Mephisto. Verse speaking is a particular speciality.
The event is part of The Drawing Room Exhibition at The Pound Arts Centre, Corsham, running from the 18th of January to the 9th of February. Find out more HERE.
