Car Park and Disabled Parking

The car park for The Pound Arts Centre is accessible from Pound Pill road and we have two disabled parking spaces that are reserved specifically for blue badge holders. There is also a large hatched section of the car park, directly in front of the main entrance to the building, that can be used for mini-bus and taxi drop-off.

The Main Building / Disabled Toilets

Visitors to The Pound can access the main entrance to the arts centre via a short wheelchair ramp at the front of the building. The front door can be opened by pressing a button that can be found on the red railing to your left as you face the main entrance.

Once inside the building you will be able to access the foyer, Box Office, Café Bar, Art Gallery and hire spaces. All of these spaces are wheelchair accessible and we welcome guide dogs inside the building, as well as in the auditorium.

Disabled toilets can be accessed just beyond the Café Bar. The nearest changing place to The Pound Arts Centre is Springfield Community Centre. More info on changing spaces HERE.

The Auditorium / Booking Shows

The main entrance to the auditorium can be found in the foyer. It leads to a glass corridor, which in turn leads to a short flight of stairs at the back of the auditorium.

Our auditorium seating is raked (rising from the front row to the back row) with steps leading from the back row to the front via a central aisle.

For disabled access to the auditorium, please inform a member of staff at the Box Office that you will need to use the side door entrance. A member of staff or a volunteer will then ensure the side door is open before escorting you into the auditorium.

Wheelchair spaces are reserved on the front row, which is on the flat (same level as the stage). We recommend that non-wheelchair users with access requirements book in the first or second row to avoid or minimise the use of steps and request to use the side entrance.

To book a wheelchair space, please contact the Box Office directly on 01249 701628 or email [email protected].

A Hearing loop is available for all performances inside The Pound auditorium.
