Drink and Draw is our monthly drawing session held on the last Thursday of each month. Each month will have a different theme and be led by a range of artists. These sessions are open to those who want to try something new as well as experienced artists and everyone in between. These workshops are Pay What You Can, we have a range of price options so that everyone can take part.
This workshop will be held on zoom, you only need to book one ticket for your household. More than one person can take part. You do not need a zoom account to join, you will receive the zoom link and passcode in your booking confirmation email. Please check your junk folder for this.
APRIL: Drink and Draw with Andy Smith
Thursday 29th April, 8pm-9:15pm
Join collage artist Andy Smith who will be leading this month’s Drink and Draw. He’ll introduce some techniques and drawing exercises to help break free from creative blocks and generate new ways of working. Drawings will explore compositional ideas and theories whilst embracing a playful approach to mark making.
What you’ll need:
Ensure you have various drawing materials (various papers, pens, pencils, felt tips, crayons, inks, paints, paint sticks, wax crayons, charcoal, etc) at hand. You could also have some unconventional mark making materials at hand; tea, coffee, nail varnish, jam, sticks, newspapers, etc. Please also ensure you have a few random objects and bits of stationery near by, these could include corrugated cardboard, string, cotton reels, plates, tinfoil, tracing paper, carbon paper, stickers, sticky tape, a compass, rulers, set squares, an old newspaper, magazines. You will also need some paper or a sketchbook to work on.
