Saturday 13 June, 3pm
You are invited to stop and cloud gaze and consider your place in the world. CLOUDSCAPES is a contemplative duologue for performer and clouds set in an outdoor auditorium — a cloud-gazing area.
This event will be live-streamed from the Pound Arts Facebook page.
It’s important that you’re feeling comfortable here, ideally you’ll have sunglasses and a comfy place with a good view the sky. It could be you’re in a back-garden, a park or simply that you can see out of a bedroom window. Just somewhere you are unlikely to be disturbed.
Join us and Gobbledegook Theatre at 3pm from your comfortable viewing platform, lie back and listen on headphones to the 45-minute piece narrated by artist and creator Lonra Rees, as she soothes you with her personal musings on cloud formation interspersed with stories about her relationship with the troposphere and on the journey of a lifetime she took, accompanied by her father.
An enjoyable, uplifting and reflective experience. Even the most seemingly featureless skies provide plentiful material. Your journey will begin with a visit to the Cloud Museum (via a live streaming) housed in a vintage horse trailer, and will be accompanied by a cloud spotting instruction sheet. We recommend that you listen to this piece via headphones for a more personal experience and for the piece to have maximum impact.
We’re delighted to present this piece as part of Blue Sky and Beyond. A moment we can all share and experience during isolation. Get gazing and feel connected.
Gobbledegook Theatre was selected to perform Cloudscapes at the biennial Caravan International Showcase for the best of new English Contemporary Performance work. And we are delighted that this outdoor piece of theatre has been developed and re-imagined for Blue Sky and Beyond, for us all to enjoy during lockdown and within our individual isolation.
Thank you Gobbledegook Theatre.
