About this take part session
Join textiles artist Jess Way for a relaxed workshop creating a hand-sewn mini quilt. Throughout the session, she’ll guide participants through stitching a classic log cabin block, a much-loved design in quilting. Once the block is complete, everyone will layer their chosen fabrics, learn simple hand-quilting techniques, and finish their piece with binding- with the option to add a hanging loop for display.
Participants will leave with a beautiful mini quilt that can be treasured as a wall hanging, used as a placemat, or kept as a personal sampler of textile techniques.
All fabrics and sewing tools will be provided for the session, though anyone who’d like to incorporate their own scraps of woven cloth into their mini quilt is warmly encouraged to bring them along.
No sewing machines are used; the session moves at a gentle pace, with time to slow down and enjoy the process.
No previous sewing experience is required- all levels are welcome.
