LOCAL TEACHER'S MUSIC IS PERFORMED BY THE MANON QUARTET AT THE POUND

Nicholas Peters, a local music teacher and former Bath Spa University student, will have his music performed by the Manon Quartet on Saturday 6 June at The Pound arts centre in Corsham. The concert is curated by Nicholas and Alex Nikiporenko, who together in late 2014 formed an experimental music concert series called 840.

Pound Arts announces National Theatre Live screenings starting in Corsham this summer.

The Pound arts centre in Corsham will be presenting National Theatre Live screenings this year, including the production of Hamlet, starring Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC’s Sherlock, The Imitation Game). Tickets go on sale from Monday 16 March for the screening in October.

The Café Bar at The Pound arts centre has been awarded the ‘Eat Out Eat Well’ Gold award for its healthy consumer choices. The Eat Out Eat Well scheme has been developed to reward caterers who make it easier for their customers to make healthier choices when dining out. It is managed by Wiltshire Council Public Protection Service. The Pound’s Café Bar is the first culinary venue in Corsham to receive the Gold certificate from Wiltshire Council.

POUND ARTS WELCOMES LATEST ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: CAROLINE RUDGE TO THE POUND

Fine Artist Caroline Rudge is the newest artist in residence at The Pound arts centre in Corsham.

The Pound established a pilot studio space in June 2009 which was successfully occupied by ceramicist Claire Baker for nearly three years, during which time she developed her practice and reputation as an artist. As a result of the pilot studio and after securing funding, two further studio spaces and a community workshop space were created at the arts centre. Caroline will be based in Studio One (originally Claire’s studio) for up to three years to develop and platform her work.

NEW CHAIR OF TRUSTEES IS APPOINTED FOR POUND ARTS

The Pound Arts Trust Board of Trustees has appointed Sue Hall as the new Chair, replacing the previous Chair David Jones, who was in office for six successful years which saw the organisation go from strength to strength gaining recognition and broadening its programme and activities. Sue will now lead the trustees and work alongside Pound Arts Director Russ Tunney into the next exciting phase of Pounds Arts history.
